Mediastinal pseudotumors associated with exogenous obesity

In obese individuals, a localized deposit of normal fat may simulate a mediastinal tumor on chest radiography. It is important to consider this possibility in the differential diagnosis to avoid needless surgery and facilitate continued observation when appropriate.
