ADDENDUM

Since submitting this paper, we have dilated two additional venostenotic lesions. A 25-mm gradient across a 1.5-cm narrowing of the cephalic-to-subclavian vein junction was reduced to 7 mm with an 8-mm polyvinyl chloride balloon. The patient had many previous episodes of thrombosis in her forearm Gore-tex graft. The graft has remained patent for the month following the angioplasty.

The other patient underwent 8-mm polyvinyl chloride PTA of a 4-cm segment venous stenosis originating at the venous end of her Gore-tex graft, which was functioning inefficiently. Her dialyses did not improve following PTA and she subsequently underwent operative revision of the stenosis.

We will report in greater detail on these two patients in a subsequent publication.
