Richard A. Szucs, MD

Dr Szucs attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society. After obtaining his MD degree in 1982 from Jefferson Medical College, he practiced medicine for a few years and then entered residency training in diagnostic radiology at the Medical College of Virginia of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. In 1990, he completed his training and then joined the Department of Radiology at the Medical College of Virginia, where he was assistant professor of radiology until his departure to become a member of Commonwealth Radiology in Richmond, Virginia. Since that time, he has maintained an appointment in the Department of Radiology as a clinical assistant professor of radiology.

Dr Szucs has published several scientific papers and contributions to textbooks. He has also been an active member of local and national medical societies, including the Radiological Society of North America. Since 2001, he has been chief of radiology at Bon Secours St Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

During his tenure as Book Review Editor, Dr Szucs established important guidelines for book reviews, solicited book reviewers for numerous textbooks, and provided editorial oversight for the book reviews published in Radiology. Since 1998, Radiology has published over 300 book reviews, thanks in large part to the efforts of Dr Szucs. Please join me in thanking Dr Szucs for his diligence and dedication as Book Review Editor and for providing our readers with important information about recently released textbooks. We wish him continued success in his career, and we very much value the time that he spent with us as Book Review Editor for Radiology. Both our Journal and our readers have benefited from his tenure with us.
