Trainee Research Prizes from the 2006 RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting

In 1994, the RSNA Program Committee, chaired by William M. Thompson, MD, began a program to recognize the contribution of residents to the RSNA Annual Meeting: the Research Trainee Prize. The Research Trainee Prize was expanded in 1999 to include fellows and in 2004 to include medical students; in 2005, it was renamed the Trainee Research Prize. Each subcommittee of the Program Committee may award three prizes each year: one prize for the best paper or scientific poster submitted by a resident or physics trainee, one prize for the best paper or poster submitted by a fellow, and one prize for the best paper or poster submitted by a medical student. These award-winning papers and scientific posters were accepted for presentation at the 2006 RSNA Annual Meeting. Judgment is based on the scientific content of the paper or poster as presented in an extended abstract. The Trainee Research Prize consists of $1000 and a certificate indicating the name of the trainee and the title of the paper or poster, both of which are given to the individual trainee.
