Benign and Malignant Lesions in the Human Breast Depicted with Ultrahigh Resolution and Three-dimensional Optical Coherence Tomography
Appendix E2
Movie 1. Video shows sequential transverse sections through a terminal duct lobular unit. The extent of the lobule and draining ducts can be seen in the upper left of the volume data set and tracked through multiple cross-sectional planes. The rendered volume is approximately 2 × 1.2 × 1.3 mm and consists of 200 transverse sections.
Movie 2. Video shows sequential sagittal sections of a pair of lactiferous ducts rendered from a volume data set. The ductal epithelium and lumens are clearly visible along the length of the ducts as they proceed from the center to top left of the volume. The rendered volume is approximately 1 × 0.5 × 1.3 mm and consists of 170 transverse sections.
Movie 3. Video shows sequential transverse sections through lobules containing ductal carcinoma in situ. Dilatation of the lobules due to the lesion and architectural distortion of the surrounding stroma are evident. The rendered volume is approximately 2 × 1 × 1.3 mm and consists of 333 transverse sections.
Movie 4. Video shows sequential transverse sections through ductal carcinoma in situ in a pair of ducts within desmoplastic stroma and infiltrating cancer. Microcalcification within the duct at right is visible as a focal region of high scattering with pronounced shadowing. The rendered volume is approximately 1 × 0.9 × 1.3 mm and consists of 300 transverse sections.
