When this happens, the IP address for your computer is not being recognized by our computer. This failure is due to the fact that the administrator of your institutional account did not enter all needed IP addresses for your institution or the administrator does not realize that some subnets of your institution are routed through a proxy server.
What should I do?
An institutional subscriber is a library or central repository for the print journals (eg, the medical library or department of radiology), and institutional subscriptions allow the library within the building to offer access to the online journals from any workstation physically located within the building. The Institution Plus subscription allows access to RSNA Journals Online (1) from workstations physically located within the building, (2) from any remote workstation located within the physical perimeter of the institution's campus surrounding such library or repository, (3) from any workstation on the library or repository's network within one city, or (4) from any home computer of an authorized user who has been given password access by the institution's subscription administrator.
Any user connecting from an authorized computer within the building that houses the print journals, or from remote locations for Institution Plus subscribers, will be allowed access to RSNA Journals Online.
When someone attempts to use RSNA Journals Online, our server checks to see if the requesting computer is within the list of Internet IP address provided by a subscribing institution. If it is, the reader will be able to use all those services enabled for institutional users. For institutional subscribers, there are no user names or passwords to remember, and there is currently no limit on the number of users from your institution who may access RSNA Journals Online simultaneously.
If readers want to access RSNA Journals Online from computers that are not part of your institutional subscription (eg, outside of the subscribing library), they can do so only through a member subscription or individual non-member subscription or by being assigned password access by the institution's subscription administrator for Institution Plus accounts.
If your institution has subscribed, you'll automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full-text display, online-only articles, PDFs, downloads of figures to PowerPoint slides for teaching purposes, and Medline and GenBank links. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.
If your institution has not subscribed, or if you wish to take advantage of the additional services available to member subscribers, you can choose to access RSNA Journals Online with a member subscription.
